Bridging the data gap: Sharing information for enhanced food safety outcomes and trade
Panel Discussion 11 June, 10:40 – 12:00
Sharing data among actors, especially as trade and the subsequent data levels increase, means the industry and regulators require digitalization of food control systems. Technological solutions are more available, but with this comes the variability of these systems. Subsequently, international digital and data standards need to be agreed upon. Failure to decide, not only on digital pathways and requirements but also on communications requirements, will become a potential barrier to developing these new systems.
FSSC Chief Executive Officer Aldin Hilbrands is among the panelists who will contribute to how data sharing and collaboration between government and industry can enhance global food safety outcomes.
