SEO Specialist

The Content Officer (SEO Specialist) will serve as the tactical and operational SEO content lead for the Foundation and all its Value Propositions (VPs), responsible for implementing the MarCom content strategy. The aim is to position FSSC as a thought leader, providing trust and impact through certification-based solutions for the consumer goods industry.

Activities include analyzing and optimizing content, capitalizing on market opportunities with new content, and focusing on long-tail content that drives organic growth, website traffic, and lead generation.

The SEO Specialist will report to Marloes van Luijk, Communications Manager.

Key Result Areas

Strategy:

  • SEO content creation and optimization: perform keyword research and content gap analysis to optimize the website performance
  • Write and optimize blog posts, landing pages, and hygiene resources for search intent.
  • Create and edit content and scripts for brochures and audiovisual content (to be designed by Multi-Media Designer) to promote FSSC’s Schemes and other VPs
  • Collaborate with our web/UX team to improve on-page SEO
  • Monitor rankings, traffic, and conversions via website, SE Ranking and HEAP analytics
  • Actively monitor what others (competing Schemes, CBs, COs, NGOs, influencers) are doing online and identify content gaps and opportunities
  • KPI driven approach

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or another relevant study.
  • 3+ years of experience in a SEO role, preferably in an international environment.
  • (Near) native or fluent in English – ability to read, write, and speak English at a high proficiency level; other languages are an advantage.
  • Well-experienced in writing prompts and using personas.
  • Familiar and experienced with CMS’es, and programs like SE Ranking, HEAP, GA
  • Proactive, solution and customer oriented, and results driven.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative mindset and an eye for details.
  • High intercultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Affinity with food safety / social sustainability is a plus.
