Regional Representative – FSSC 24000 – India & South East Asia

The Regional Representative is responsible for the market development of FSSC 24000 in its region. The primary regional focus is India, and the Regional Representative should also operate, medium to longer term, in South Asia (e.g., Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) and in South East Asia. The key objective of the role is to establish and maintain a solid base of FSSC 24000 advocates and Certified Organizations (COs) in this wider region of Asia.

The Regional Representative will travel widely across India, mainly, and then beyond across South and Southeast Asia to promote FSSC 24000. The Regional Representative will be successful via the use of clear strategies and activities that ensure that a large number of key decision makers are aware of and then adopt FSSC 24000 for their organizations and their supply chains. The key metric of success will be the number of specifiers accepting and the number of FSSC 24000 COs.

Strong preference for a candidate living in India.

Key Result Areas

  • Successful collaboration with our Regional Representatives (e.g. In India, In South Asia) to generate opportunities to raise awareness of FSSC 24000 in the region.
  • Driving the market adoption of FSSC 24000 in the region to include increasing the number of specifiers accepting FSSC 24000 and the number of organizations certified to FSSC 24000.
  • Attendance at relevant events, especially with speaking slots, and social media communications surrounding events to generate and sustain high profile of FSSC 24000 in the target markets and sectors.
  • To generate and act on market insights about the levels of adoption of FSSC 24000 and the opportunities to increase adoption through overcoming challenges.
  • Active and regular engagement with our Technical Team and Brand Strategy Team (e.g. Marketing Manager, Market Development Manager – FSSC 24000) to calibrate on market messaging which will work in the target sectors in the target markets.
  • Ongoing identification, targeting and engagement with all key organizations to increase engagement and adoption of FSSC 24000.
  • Cooperation with relevant large market players and trade organizations to ensure awareness of FSSC 24000 and the benefits it can bring to specifiers and COs.
  • Specific focus on growing support for FSSC 24000 in the non-food sector with concentrated activities on textiles, clothing, garments, leather and non-leather industries to ensure that these value chain actors have acceptance and adoption of FSSC 24000.
  • There should be medium term acceptance and adoption results in other non-food sectors that are covered by FSSC 24000.
  • Close cooperation with the local/regional industry groups to increase the awareness and adoption of FSSC 24000.
  • Understanding and anticipating the drivers in the marketplace and translating them into commercial challenges that FSSC 24000 can help organizations to address. This will include monitoring all relevant economic, social, political/legislative and business developments, with the aim of framing FSSC 24000 as a management system approach.
  • Realize growth in number of certificates in the region with year on year growth of FSSC 24000 COs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • More than ten years of sectoral experience in textiles, clothing, garments, leather and non-leather industries.
  • Social auditing/certification as an auditor and/or in market development.
  • Proven network with stakeholders such as sectoral industry (e.g. textiles), government and consultants.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO, SSCI requirements, and similar relevant social schemes in the marketplace.
  • Knowledge and experience of the challenges of implementing social systems and management systems.
  • Ability to think technically and act in a highly market driven promotional mindset combining deep knowledge of social systems/promotional mindset/large and deep network in non-food sectors covered by FSSC 24000.
  • Target driven and highly motivated with tenacity.
  • Proven network with stakeholders such as sectoral industry (e.g. textiles), government and consultants.
  • Deep experience of at-scale promotion of other similar social schemes is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills especially with social media profile and experience and ability to react quickly and accurately to social media posts in order to generate profile and leverage a large network that the Regional Representative will already have and keep building.
  • Work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a high proficiency level.
